VGK is implementing a project for the construction of a Technopark in the Uglegorsk district with a total area of 13 ha. The site allocated for the project is located in close proximity to the Solntsevsky coal mine. Complex service maintenance and repair of equipment will be organised on the territory of the technopark.

The opening of the Technopark will have a positive impact on the economic development of the Uglegorsk region. The new industrial site will expand opportunities for training qualified personnel and creating over 70 additional jobs in the region.

Today, the Technopark has an oil analysis laboratory that has no analogues in Sakhalin, thanks to which it became possible not only to monitor the condition of technical fluids, but also to monitor the condition of automotive components and assemblies. This leads to the elimination of the risk of emergency failure of expensive equipment.

Also, on the territory of the Technopark, there is a section for the manufacture of high pressure hoses (high pressure hoses), which promptly provides the production assets of VGK with components for the entire range of mining equipment. Due to the increase in production capacity, all high pressure hoses used in the repair of equipment will be entirely of VGK’s own production.

To ensure the continuity of production processes at the Technopark site, a warehouse with an area of 1600 m2 was erected for storing inventory items.

On the territory of the Technopark there are already companies that provide comprehensive service, diagnostics, and repair of equipment. For example, a resident of the Technopark, Modern Machinery, provides repair services for Komatsu mining dump trucks on a service area of 4800 m2. The German company Liebherr has organised a service station for bulldozers and loaders with the prospect of building a full-fledged box for the repair of heavy equipment. On an area of 2400 m2, Hitachi's official representative in Russia, MineTech Machinery, also organised a service station for the prompt repair of equipment operated at the mine, and additionally equipped a warehouse for spare parts. Also, the residents of the Technopark are companies that provide services for the transportation of rock mass.

At the next stage, it is planned to build a mechanical repair shop on the territory of the Technopark, which will include a welding section, a section for repairing hydraulic equipment, repairing components and assemblies, as well as a mechanical section with modern metalworking equipment. A modern complex will be organised for the washing of quarry equipment using closed-cycle technology. Also at the Technopark site, there will be a new office building of the Solntsevsky coal mine with a modern control room, from where the operational control of all production processes is carried out. In the immediate vicinity of the Technopark, a technological line is being built to process KGSH (large-sized tyres) into crumb rubber and subsequently into liquid fuel.

The territory of the Technopark will be fully provided with the appropriate infrastructure, energy resources, engineering networks, and access roads will be organised.
