BKT has announced an order in the off-the-road (OTR) sector, with the supply of 42 giant EARTHMAX SR 468 tyres, in the 40.00 R 57 size, to South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL). This is a mining company owned by the Indian Government's Ministry of Coal.
The first batch of six tyres made for SECL has already been shipped, while a further two batches will reach the customer within a week.
This is an important milestone which consolidates BKT's positioning in the mining sector, confirming the group as a key player for the OTR industry.
EARTHMAX SR 468 is the 57 in. tyre – the largest ever made by BKT – was manufactured at the BKT plant in Bhuj, India, and designed to equip rigid dump trucks operating in the most hostile conditions.
This huge tyre is characterised by being particularly resistant to attacks and punctures, thanks to the all steel structure, and is therefore suitable for rough and muddy terrain. Its special tread design and its compound are created to limit the heat generated, while the E-4 tread depth provides extreme resistance in highly challenging conditions.
This order rewards the group's willingness to enter and invest in the giant segment, a choice driven by the requests and feedback, which the brand receives directly from users every day.
