Solntsevsky coal mine welcomes hydraulic excavator

A new hydraulic excavator Komatsu PC-2000 with a bucket volume of 12 m3 has been put into operation at the Solntsevsky coal mine. This is the seventh machine of this modification, which has begun work at the key mining asset of the Eastern Mining Co. The expansion of the excavator fleet is aimed at increasing the production capacity of the mine.
The excavator is designed for loading rock into mining dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 90 – 130 t. The production capacity of the machine allows mining up to 350 000 m3 of rock per month. The technique of this modification has already proven itself well at the Solntsevsky coal mine and can be effectively used both in stripping operations and in mining when excavating thick coal seams.
The new Komatsu PC-2000 hydraulic excavator weighing 200 t has a bucket capacity of 12 m3 with a high cutting force. Built-in automatic energy management helps you achieve optimal engine and hydraulic power levels while minimising waste. The 3400 l fuel tank is designed to operate for 24 hr. The excavator is optimally suited to the climatic conditions of the island, which allows it to work in any weather.
In order to ensure a high level of safety for the operator-operator of the excavator, the machine is equipped with a proprietary Komatsu protection system, which includes a protective visor and a reinforced cab frame. It also has improved visibility, emergency stop valve, fuel shut-off lever, traction control and engine fire protection.
In the near future, the fleet will be replenished with one more Hitachi EX1200 crawler excavator with a bucket capacity of 7 m3 and a 567 kW engine. The machine will also be involved in mining and loading rocks into mining dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 90 t.
The volume of investments in the purchase of new equipment amounted to RUB 247 million. With the commissioning of 2 new units, the fleet of excavators involved in the extraction and loading of rock at the Solntsevsky coal mine will be 27 machines.
