VGK uses technology to control labour protection requirements

VGK has started implementing a new stage of monitoring compliance with labour protection and industrial safety rules at its production assets. Now, in order to optimise the monitoring process, labour protection specialists carry out mobile control using tablets equipped with special software.

The installed interface allows operators to record violations online and quickly draw up an act. Employees of labour protection with tablets conduct daily control, being directly on the territory of the Solntsevsky coal mine and the coal seaport, Shakhtersk. Having discovered a violation, an act is drawn up on an electronic device. The intruder is introduced to the site and recorded by their signature on the tablet using a stylus. The signed document is sent online for further processing. Thus, violations of the requirements of industrial safety, electrical safety during the operation of electrical installations and lifting structures are recorded. Also, to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, tablets are used to monitor the use of PPE by workers.

“Vostochnaya Mining Company always pays special attention to compliance with labour protection requirements at all of its production assets. The measures taken are aimed at preserving the life and health of our employees. The efficiency of all processes will increase, which will make it possible to strengthen daily control, reducing the number of possible violations,” commented Ilya Sterlikov, Director for HSE and Industrial Safety of the All-Russian State Corp.

The use of tablets to identify and record violations has become the next stage in a set of measures implemented in the framework of strengthening control over compliance by employees of production assets with all labour protection requirements. Prior to that, a project was implemented to install video surveillance cameras using artificial intelligence technologies at the Solntsevsky coal mine. Cameras help monitor employee safety in real time. The whole range of measures is being implemented within the framework of the digitalisation programme of the enterprises of the Eastern Mining Co.
