Solntsevsky coal mine operators trained to use Hitachi excavator
Published by Jessica Casey,
MineTech Machinery, the official distributor of Hitachi equipment in Russia, conducted training on the operation of the new Hitachi EX1200-7 excavator for the operators of the Solntsevsky coal mine. The new equipment entered the coal mining facility at the end of February and has been put into operation since the beginning of March. The Hitachi EX1200 excavator will be involved in the extraction and loading of rock into mining dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 90 t.
During the training, technicians shared the necessary experience and tools to ensure the maximum and safe return from the new excavator. As part of the theoretical part, the operators learned about the innovations in the control of the Hitachi EX1200-7 excavator. The new model is fully electronically controlled, which will subsequently facilitate the operator's work in contrast to the hydraulic system installed on previous versions.
In the second part, testing of the new Hitachi EX1200-7 excavator took place in an open area in real conditions of the Solntsevsky coal mine. First, the trainers paid attention to the observance of safety rules in the daily use of new equipment. For example, when working on an excavator, operators need to pay attention to the level of the face, which should not exceed the permissible rate. Also, to avoid collisions with the dump truck, operators must provide a recoil safety guard.
Having started the practical part, the employees of the Solntsevsky coal mine got acquainted with the peculiarities of starting the engine of this model and working on it. Technicians showed how it is necessary to carry out a visual inspection of the EX1200-7 excavator before starting work, which includes checking for the presence of technical fluids, cracks and leaks.
After completing the training, the operators, under the supervision of trainers, proceeded to the practical part on the EX1200-7 excavator. As the exercises were performed, the trainers assessed the sequence of the operations and their correctness.
