World Coal,
Bettercoal has announced the launch of the revised Bettercoal Code Version 2.0, the international sustainability standard for assessing, assuring and sustaining stringent ethical, environmental and social performance in the coal mining supply chain.
Development of the Bettercoal Code has been underpinned by formal and transparent stakeholder consultation processes and public comment periods aligned with ISEAL good practice guidance, with consensus on the latest revision overseen by the Bettercoal Technical Advisory Committee between 2019 and 2020.
The new Bettercoal Code 2.0 is available in English, Spanish, Russian and Indonesian, and is accompanied by the Bettercoal 2.0 Guidance, developed to support Bettercoal Suppliers on their improvement journey, and enable them to better understand and interpret the requirements of the Code, and the steps needed to implement it.
The new Code 2.0, Guidance, consultation comments, and details on the Code Review process can be found here.
