Fuel Tech Inc. has announced the receipt of multiple air pollution control (APC) contracts from customers in the US. These awards have an aggregate value of approximately US$5.0 million.

An order was received for NOxOUT® Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) systems for two large coal-fired utility boilers. Fuel Tech’s SNCR technology is a proven solution as combustion unit owners look to comply with more stringent NOx control requirements. Equipment deliveries are scheduled for completion during the first quarter of 2018.

A second order was received for a NOxOUT SNCR system that will be installed on an industrial unit in the West. Equipment delivery will be in the 4Q17.

Vincent J. Arnone, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “Our SNCR technology continues to provide a low-cost capital NOx reduction solution for customers worldwide as they comply with ever-tightening regulations. SNCR technology can provide moderate reductions in NOx emissions as compared to our Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, which offers high levels of reduction at a higher capital cost. These orders reflect Fuel Tech’s ability to provide cost-effective environmental and emission control solutions to meet a wide range of customer needs.”

Mr. Arnone concluded: “We have announced US$9 million in new orders to start 2017. With our industry-leading suite of APC products and services, we believe we are well positioned to compete for additional global opportunities.”
