FAMUR and OOO MMK – UGOL sign longwall contract

FAMUR S.A. has announced it will supply a longwall system to the Russian ‘Chertinskaya-Koksovaya’ Mine belonging to OOO ‘MMK - UGOL’. The contract value amounts to €17.5 million.

FAMUR S.A. will provide the Russian client with powered roof supports, a shearer loader, an armoured face conveyor and a beam stage loader with a crusher as well as additional equipment. Longwall system intended for shearer loader - based exploitation of coal deposits is to be delivered to Russia by July 2017.

“The Russian market is very demanding when it comes to reliability and performance of the equipment as well as repair and maintenance capacities of manufacturers. FAMUR meets these expectations and therefore there is a demand for our machines enabling our customers to reach very good results,” commented Ireneusz Komoszynski, Export Sales Director of Eastern Markets in FAMUR.

The Chertinskaya-Koksovaya mine is located in the town of Belovo in Kemerovo Oblast, and together with the Kostromovskaya mine it belongs to OOO ‘MMK-UGOL’. In 2016, the facilities associated with the company reached the ROM of approx. 3.4 million t of coal and generated 2.8 million t of concentrated coal.
