Solntsevsky coal mine mines record 10 million t of coal

Since 2013, the production volume has increased more than 5 times and at the end of November reached the anniversary 10 million t. On Sakhalin, the company is a leading producer of energy-grade coal and today the aggregate production of WGC is more than 80% of the total brown coal production on the island.

“The record production volume is an indicator of the company's effective work and competent management of business processes. Every year, we increase the capacity of the Solntsevsky coal mine, increasing the productivity of equipment, expanding the fleet of mining and transport equipment, introducing modern technologies. Today, the opencast works as a single integral system, which allows you to control the volume of production at each stage. Now we can confidently say that 10 million t is the start of a new stage in the work of the entire team of the company. And in the future we plan to double this figure,” commented Ivan Podgornykh, Deputy Director for Production at the Solntsevsky coal mine.

Anatoly Balakin, Director of the Shakhtersk Coal Seaport, noted the importance of the joint work of two key production assets of the Eastern Mining Co. The created efficient chain from mining to shipment of coal allows the company to increase its volumes annually, keeping VGK's position as one of the leading exporters of Russian coal to the Asia Pacific Region countries.

The importance of the event was noted by the first vice-mayor of the Uglegorsk region, Andrey Serov: “10 million t of coal is a record figure not only for the enterprise, but also for the entire Uglegorsk region. The result is not possible without competent leadership, timely modernisation and high-quality well-coordinated teamwork. Thank you for your work.”
