Weekly coal production totals 15.7 million t

According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), the US coal production totaled 15.7 million short t for the week ending 24 September. This estimate is 2.3% lower than that of the previous week. Additionally, it is 11.8% lower than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2015
East of the Mississippi River coal production totaled 5.9 million short t. West of the Mississippi River coal production totaled 9.8 million short t. US year-to-date coal production totaled 523.8 million short t. This is 22.3% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2015.
