Metso releases redesigned inclined circular motion screen

World Coal,

Metso has released a redesigned Nordberg CVB inclined circular motion screen, which has been developed for customers looking to invest in cost-efficient screening technology.

The new design includes new features, including a large space between the decks, which lowers the risk for injuries and makes the replacement of screening panels quicker.

To further increase safety, the Nordberg CVB screen is also equipped with coil spring covers to minimise the risk of pinching accidents, as well as rubber stabilisers, high-safety belt guards and one centralised, conveniently located greasing manifold.

The wear protection liners of the screen have also been bolted on to make them safer than in the old design. Bolting them on also makes them easy to replace, unlike glued rubber liners found in similar screens.

Metso has redesigned the vibrator, structural design and wear protection of the screen, because these are the most likely areas to cause operators serious trouble.

Vibrators

The Nordberg CVB screen is fitted with the Metso MV Modular Vibrator, which features advanced, dust-proof cartridge design. Because of their dual bearings, the MV vibrators are very durable.

Structural design

The weld-free side plates of the Nordberg CVB ensures optimal durability and a high stress tolerance. The screen also includes weld-free cross members that drastically increase its lifetime under fatigue and allow for more tonnage.

Wear protection

The feedbox and discharge spouts of the screen are protected with Metso's Trellex™ modular wear and impact resistance rubber linings. Easy maintenance and quick replacement of screening media, wear liners and spare parts allow operators to increase uptime and improve profitability.

Flexible performance

To make the new Nordberg CVB screen fit for several applications, its robust standard deck frames are preconfigured to handle both modular and tension screening media with minimal interruption and can easily be converted to handle the Metso screening media of choice. One example of an upgrade option is Trellex LS modular screening media, which is optimised for Metso screens and thus helps guarantee total screening performance.

For added flexibility, the trunnion spring brackets allow adjustable installation angle from 12 – 22°, increasing screening efficiency for all types of applications such as primary, technical and final screening.
