World Coal,
Chesterton has introduced the patent-pending Polymer Labyrinth Seal, designed to provide improved sealing performance in splash applications for bearing and gearbox protection. This high performance non-contact design eliminates fretting caused by conventional lip seals and helps to reduce maintenance costs associated with premature bearing and gearbox failures.
This innovative seal combines our exclusive polymer material with a patent pending design. The unitised, non-contacting three-piece labyrinth design includes a rotor, a stator and a built-in valve with no wearing parts. While in operation lubricant is contained within the labyrinth and flows back into the bearing housing while outside contaminants are excluded, by centrifugal force and gravity, and redirected through a relief port back to atmosphere.
