Alfa Laval receives Middle East power order

World Coal,

Alfa Laval has won an order to supply compact heat exchangers to a power plant in the Middle East. The order, booked in the Energy & Process segment, has a value of approximately SEK 55 million. Delivery is scheduled for this year.

The Alfa Laval compact heat exchangers will be used for cooling duties in an integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plant. IGCC is a technology where coal and other carbon-based fuels are turned into synthesis gas, which is subsequently used to produce steam for power generation.

Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group, said: “We are happy to announce yet another large energy-related order and this time from the demanding power industry.

Once completed, the facility will be one of the largest gasifier-based power facilities in the world.
