The Global CCS Institute welcomes UK government’s renewed commitment to carbon capture and storage (CCS) in its Clean Growth Strategy.
In this ambitious plan, the government has emphasised the role of CCS as an important global economic opportunity for the UK.
Global CCS Institute CEO Brad Page said: “The Global CCS Institute is pleased to see the UK Government’s approach to CCS. The Clean Growth Strategy acknowledges CCS as a critical technology to reduce emissions and decarbonise heavy industries. It also recognises the huge economic potential of CCS as the catalyst of a new energy economy. We are delighted to see the commitments taken by the UK Government to develop the technology domestically and invest in innovation support. The Institute looks forward to collaborating with the UK Government in the future as they continue to build their leadership in this field.”
