Bowie Resource Partners (BRP) will supply the Huntingdon power plant’s coal requirements to 2029 under a new agreement with the plant’s owners, PacifiCorp.
“We are very excited about this unique 15 yr partnership with our largest customer,” said BRP’s Executive-Chairman, John Siegel, in a statement.
BRP is one of the largest producers of western bituminous coal with four underground mines in Utah and Colorado.
Under the agreement, the Louisville-based mining company will also buy about 50 million short t of undeveloped, high-heat, low-sulfur coal reserves in Utah from an affiliate of the power company.
