American Electric Power seeks bids for coal

American Electric Power(AEP) is seeking offers for the supply of coal to one or more of its power plants.

AEP is seeking spot delivery proposals for up to 500 000 short t of Central Appalachian (CAPP) coal, FOB barge, beginning in April 2017 and ending in September 2017. In addition, AEP is seeking spot delivery proposals for up to 1.5 million short t of CAPP coal, FOB barge, beginning in January 2018 and ending in December 2018. AEP also is seeking spot delivery proposals for up to 1.2 million short t of Powder River Basin (PRB) coal, FOB rail, beginning in April 2017 and ending in December 2017. AEP is open to alternative pricing structures or other innovative, value-added concepts. Proposals with alternative terms will be accepted. Accepted bids will be at AEP's discretion.

The company reported that proposal packages must be received by AEP no later than 5 pm, Tuesday 14 February 2017.

American Electric Power is one of the largest electric utilities in the US, delivering electricity and custom energy solutions to nearly 5.4 million customers in 11 states.
