EIA releases Week 4 2015 US coal production estimate

World Coal,
US coal production totaled 19.9 million short t for the week ending 24 January, according to the weekly coal production estimate from the US Energy Information Administration – 2.7% higher than last week’s total of 19.4 million short t and 2.6% up on the same week last year.
Production east of the Mississippi was 8.3 million short t, a rise of 200 000 short t on the previous week. West of the river, output hit 11.6 million t.
Year-to-date production is 65.7 million short t, 2% higher than at the same point last year.
