World Coal,

Many Motion Metrics customers are upgrading their ToothMetrics™, missing tooth detection systems, to ShovelMetrics™. ShovelMetrics™ is a complete shovel solution offering five distinct features: missing tooth detection, tooth wear monitoring, payload monitoring, rock fragmentation analysis and proximity detection, offering better safety and efficiency results.

Recently, a copper mine in the US upgraded the systems on five of their P&H shovels. With mine crew support, the five upgrades were completed in two days.

Since the upgrade, the mine personnel have been pleased with the improved performance of the new ShovelMetrics™ systems.

A Senior Electrician at the mine commented: “First of all, from everyone here, compliments on the new look of the ShovelMetrics CPU box, it looks really nice, but more importantly, the new systems are more reliable, with better accuracy and the speed of missing tooth detection has increased tremendously to almost instantaneous.”
