WCA members respond to COVID-19

The spread of COVID-19 continues to have a significant impact around the world, and with communities facing the challenge in different stages and at different times, this unprecedented situation has shown that a lot can change over a very short period. The World Coal Association (WCA) is being are asked to support its governments around the world in ensuring that essential services like health, power and food are available to support our daily lives.

WCA industry members understand this responsibility. Governments and economies are dependent on a responsible coal industry being in place to support energy demand and infrastructure right now, and in the future, for economic recovery.

By taking extra measures, donations to support local services, promoting public health information, building temporary infrastructure and keeping supply lines open, the association’s industry and members continue to work safely and responsibly to guide it through these extraordinary times.

WCA Members around the globe are working to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 in numerous ways and information on the steps being taken can be found below.
