VIDEO: Exploring for coal
Dando Drilling International, a long-established British manufacturer of drilling rigs for a diverse range of applications, has been involved in the design and development of drilling rigs for coal exploration since 1900. The techniques of this type of drilling have changed and improved a great deal due to the introduction of new technology applied to drilling rigs.
The company manufactures and supplies hydraulic top-drive mineral exploration drilling rigs with pullback capacities ranging between 6000 – 18 000 kgf. Dando’s Mintec range of rigs is able to perform various different types of drilling, including reverse calculation (RC), rotary air blast (RAB) and wireline core drilling.
The drilling rigs supplied by Dando come in a range of mounting options, including track, truck or skid mounted. Alternatively, the rigs can also be mounted on a mining operation’s own vehicle or structure.
The company has recently released footage of its drilling rigs being used in coal mine exploration.
