Senior management changes at South32

South32 Chief Executive Officer, Graham Kerr has announced changes to the group’s senior management team.

In a media release, the company indicated that it believes technology and innovation presents a real opportunity to deliver safety and productivity improvements throughout our business. In response, it has created the role of Chief Technology Officer. This role, which will sit on the Executive Committee, elevates technology and innovation, enabling South32 to adopt a whole of company approach as it looks at new ways of working to optimise our operations and unlock their potential.

Ricus Grimbeek, who is currently Chief Operating Officer for the Australia Region has been appointed to the role of Chief Technology Officer. Ricus has more than 20 years experience across Africa, Australia, Canada and Colombia and has a real passion for the potential that technology and innovation can unlock.

Paul Harvey, who sits on South32’s Executive Committee, will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer for the Australia Region. He has more than 25 years operating experience across Africa, Australia and Canada and most recently led the roll out of the company’s Care Strategy in Africa.

These appointments are effective immediately.
