In 2009, Kentz was awarded Phase 1 of the Moatize Coal Processing Plant, which became the company's flagship project in Africa, where significant infrastructure developments were made to develop the production of coal products in Mozambique.
Kentz's Construction Business Unit will be responsible for providing all structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and piping (SMEIP) construction services associated with the coal processing and handling plant, crusher, stackers, reclaimers and conveyors.
Carl Dyer, Regional Managing Director – Africa, commented: "Kentz have a long-standing relationship with Vale Mozambique and winning the contract for the Moatize expansion is a great achievement. The award of this strategic project shows the confidence Vale has in Kentz for delivering projects in Mozambique."
