Ausdrill subsidiary BTP Equipment has secured a 24 month extension to its existing contract with Peabody Energy Australia.
Under the extension – which is valued at AUS$70 million – BTP will continue to rent mining and ancillary equipment to Peabody’s coal mines located in key Australian coal precincts, including the Hunter Valley and Bowen Basin.
BTP has been working as a key partner with Peabody since winning the contract in April 2015. The initial two-year period was due to expire on 31 March 2017.
Donald James, Executive General Manager – Equipment Services & Supplies, said: “The contract extension reflects the strong relationship that BTP has built with Peabody over recent years. We are delighted to secure this contract extension and continue with the rental of equipment and related services to Peabody.”
