KTK sees 16% growth in 3Q16 production

Russian coal company, Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Co. (KTK), saw coal production rise 16% year-on-year in 3Q16 to 3.04 million t, the company said in a recent press release.
Production increased across most of the company’s mines with a 23% year-on-year increase at the Karakansky South opencast mine.
Production of saleable product also increased by 16% to 2.65 million t with sales totaling 2.94 million t – a 14% year-on-year increase. Export sales hit 1.94 million t, up 14% year on year, while domestic sales were 0.99 million t, a 12% year-on-year increase.
Coal production for the nine months to 2016 was 8.56 million t, growth of 7% year on year, with sales of 7.84 million t. Of this, exports comprised 71% of total sales.
The company expects 4Q16 production on 3.2 million t. KTK mines thermal coal in the Kemerovo region of Russia.
