VIDEO: Testimonials from Coal Prep 2014 – Barbara Arnold

At the 31st International Coal Preparation Conference & Expo, Penton Media’s Florence Torres interviewed Barbara Arnold, president of PrepTech Inc., in one of a series of video testimonials from the show.

Following her presentation, “An introduction to coal preparation”, and workshop, Arnold said it was important that there were implementable ideas available to people at the educational conferences.

In a tough year for coal prep, coal preparation and the coal industry at large, Arnold looked forward to what 2014 and beyond might bring.

While lamenting the lack of crystal balls available, Arnold explained that it was most likely set to be a case of needing to keep a steady ship and ride out the current market trends of subdued prices and investment. “We’re not seeing many new plants and circuits going in – it’s few and far between. If the metallurgical industry starts to come back, we will see an uptake in coal preparation. We’re going to need to hold our own for the next year or so, until things settle out,” Arnold said.
