Aurizon increases coal haulage in 2014 despite weaker commodity prices

World Coal,

Australian rail freight company, Aurizon, has reported increased haulage of coal in the Australian 2013/14 financial year.

The increased coal haulage comes in spite of a continued slump in coal prices.

Aurizon shifted 210.4 million t of coal in the year to 30 June 2014 – an increase of 9% from the previous year.

The company said the increase in coal haulage was in line within its forecasted figures.

The rail freight company expects to outline volume expectations for fiscal 2015 at its full-year results on 18 August.
