US fine coal recovery plant making good progress

World Coal,

Coalview Ltd, a US fully integrated coal technology and fine coal recovery company, which provides technology and environmental solutions for mining property owners, has announced it is successfully commissioning its Coalview Centralia fine coal recovery (FCR) plant. Full commissioning is on schedule, and the plant has experienced regular slurry and coal processing since the first week of December.

The 200 tph plant completed construction on time and is going through scaling up and fine tuning.

“We are pleased with the progress our team has made at Centralia,” stated Roger Fish, CEO of Coalview. “As we continue to scale up and fine tune the plant, we expect to demonstrate the plant will meet its production estimates as forecasted.”

The Coalview Centralia plant is a US$42 million investment for the company to provide the cleaning and evacuation of more than 18 million t of slurry material, stored in the impoundment structures at the Centralia coal mine. Upon completion of slurry processing, a large-scale environmental programme will begin; thereby allowing the post-mining land use to include upland forestry, lowland forest (wetland, riparian, fish and wildlife habitat), pastureland, and industrial land.

The Centralia plant produces fine coal 24 hr/d, 7 days a week and currently employs 23 people.
