Oleg Misevra, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Mining Company, was recognised as the ‘Exporter of the Year’ following the results of the II All-Russian People to 2019 Competition.
The annual People of Business competition has been started and held by the all-Russian public organisation Delovaya Rossiya since 2018. The event is aimed at identifying successful business practices of Russian entrepreneurship. The Exporter of the Year nomination marks the best export-oriented business that positively affects the positive status of entrepreneurship in the region.
Eastern Mining Company is included in the list of 20 largest producers of solid fuel in the country, as well as in the top ten major exporters of Russian coal. The company works closely with countries in the Asia-Pacific region, where today the largest coal consumers in the world are concentrated - China, Korea, Japan.
VGK is a supplier of brown coal with a low sulfur content. These characteristics of solid fuels are highly valued in the Asia-Pacific countries, as they comply with their environmental standards. Since 2019, the company began large deliveries to the Indian market. VGK also plans to increase exports to other countries - Vietnam and the Philippines.
In 2018, VGK mined and exported 7.5 million t of coal. According to 2019 results, it is planned to increase coal export through the sea gates of Shakhtersk and, in the future, to start mining and shipping 20 million tpy of coal.
