World Coal,
Jameson Resources has begun work on an update to the pre-feasibility study (PFS) on the Crown Mountain metallurgical coal project in British Columbia, Canada.
The company has appointed Vancouver-based Norwest Corp. to undertake the work.
The need to update the PFS comes after Jameson identified several potential opportunities to reduce CAPEX and OPEX in areas such as fuel costs, labour and materials, wash plant and fleet optimization. The updated PFS will also evaluate the potential of contract mining to produce CAPEX savings.
Changes to macroeconomic factors – such as the weakening of the Canadian dollar against the US dollar – have also improved the project economics.
The updated PFS is expected by the end of 1Q17.
