Mastermyne Group Limited has announced that it has been awarded a Roadway Development contract at Whitehaven Coal Limited’s Nararbi Mine using place change methodology.

The company has been engaged to undertake roadway development in the gate roads, including initial set up work and conveyor installations.

The project will commence mobilising from October 2017 and the scope includes the full management and supply of equipment and skilled personnel to execute the works under the contract. The contract will employ approximately 55 full time personnel and has a projected duration approximately 18 months, generating revenues of approximately US$33 million over the life of the contract. The company will deploy a continuous miner and ancillary development equipment from its own fleet for the project. Mastermyne has now placed three continuous miners into operation at various mines in 2017.

Mastermyne CEO, Tony Caruso, said:

“We are very pleased to have secured this new project and we are looking forward to building a strong working relationship with Whitehaven’s Narrabri Coal operations. This project builds on the already very strong order book we have for FY2018 with further opportunities still in the pipeline.
