La Française de l’Énergie (Paris:LFDE) (LFDE) has announced the CBR-1 well, currently being drilled at Lachambre in the Moselle region in France, has successfully reached its second target located at 1178 m depth, constituting a coal seam stack of 7 m true vertical thickness.
The core analysis have demonstrated an excellent gas content, above 10 m3/ short t. Petrographic analysis of the cores has confirmed the presence of a well-developed natural fractures network, a typical feature of the coal seams in the Lorraine basin. The objectives of the stratigraphic well CBR-1 being 100% fulfilled, La Française de l’Energie has started the deviated part of the well, in order to test the potential of coal seam Gamma with multilaterals.
La Française de l’Energie is the operator and sole holder of the exclusive exploration permit Bleue Lorraine, on which the CBR-1 well is located.
