Wescoal’s CEO and Director, Waheed Sulaiman, has resigned from his position.
This will become effective as of Thursday 31 January 2019.
Until a new candidate is appointed, Dr Humphrey Mathe, currently an independent Non Executive Director, will fill his position.
The company reportedly provided no reasons for his exit, which was announced on the JSE’s stock exchange news service yesterday afternoon.
Sulaiman was appointed acting CEO of Wescoal in April 2015 after Andre Bojé, who led the company for 18 years, resigned.
Sulaiman drove the company’s transformation into a majority black-owned coal producer.
