On 24 October, Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. announced that Tinuum Group, LLC (Tinuum Group), a joint venture among the company's subsidiary ADA-ES, Inc. – an affiliate of NexGen Resources Corporation, and an affiliate of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. – has completed a transaction for an additional refined coal facility.
The refined coal facility is located at a coal plant that has historically burned in excess of 3 million t of coal per year and is royalty bearing to Advanced Emissions Solutions. With this addition, Tinuum Group has 19 invested facilities in full-time operation.
L. Heath Sampson, President and CEO of Advanced Emissions Solutions, commented: “We continue to be pleased with the cadence of ongoing discussions with both existing and potential tax equity investors, as evidenced by this most recent closure. The progression of these talks also reaffirms the steps taken to enter idle refined coal facilities into the engineering and construction phase in anticipation of securing third-party investors for the remaining facilities. Tinuum, with support from Advanced Emissions Solutions and Tinuum’s other owners, continues to focus on securing additional tax equity investors to support lowering emissions at utilities as well as increase shareholder value."
