Miners trapped after explosion at Turkish coal mine
32 workers are trapped following an explosion at a coal mine near the Black Sea province of Zonguldak, northern Turkey.
The cause of the explosion at the Karadon mine is currently unknown, although reports suggest that it may have been due to a build-up of methane underground.
Rescue efforts are currently underway to free the workers who are trapped 540 m underground. There has been no communication with the workers since the blast.
This is the third major accident in the country within the last six months. A methane gas explosion in northwest Turkey killed 13 workers in February.
