Wescoal Holdings Ltd – a company involved in mining, processing, supplying, selling and distributing coal – appoints Izak van der Walt as the new acting CFO. This is following the resignation of Executive Director and CFO, Morne du Plessis.
Acting CEO, Waheed Sulaiman, said: “Du Plessis wished to explore other opportunities and in order to remove any uncertainties about this important company role, it was jointly agreed that the resignation be effective immediately. A month-long handover period will ensure the continued smooth workings of the financial department and processes.”
Sulaiman highlighted Du Plessis’s contribution to improving the company’s financial systems and controls. “Our parting has been amicable following a full and lengthy consultative process and on behalf of the executive we wish him every success in the future.”
The appointment of a permanent CFO will see Van der Walt return to his original position as Group Financial Manager.
