WCA chief executive wins mining award
World Coal Association (WCA) CEO, Milton Catelin, has won the 2014 Advance Global Australian Award in the Mining & Resources category.
Catelin received the award in recognition of his global advocacy at the WCA on sustainable development, as well as his work on coal and the environment.
Global impact
Milton Catelin commented: “It’s an honour to be given this prestigious award and I thank Advance for providing a platform for Australians who have contributed to their chosen field to be recognised for their vision and ambition. All the nominees are very talented and have done exceptional work. These awards pave the way for current and future generations of Australians to strive for global opportunities and innovations that have a global impact.”
Environmental action
During the past two decades, Catelin has worked within the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on public private partnerships, and has been engaged in a number of other environmental action projects and climate change programmes.
