Banpu included in sustainability index

Thai coal company, Banpu, has been selected a member of Dow Jones Sustainability Indices as the leading company in the coal and consumable fuels sector. It is the third year in a row the Bangkok-based company has been listed.
“It is a great honour to have achieved a listing on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, not only once, but for the third consecutive time,” said Somruedee Chaimongkol, Banpu’s CEO.
Companies are selected for inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices based on an assessment of its economic, social and environmental contribution.
“For Banpu, sustainability and balanced growth means long-term existence substantiated in our three pillars, including: business performance, people and corporate culture in response to new business challenges.”
Banpu owns coal mining operations in Indonesia, Australia and China, as well as coal power and renewable energy business across Asia and in the US.
