SunCoke Energy Inc. has reported preliminary 4Q15 domestic coke production of 1.03 million short t, which is down an estimated 53 000 short t. The decline is reported to be largely a reflection of 2015 Granite City volumes at contract maximum levels, as well as below target production at the company’s Indiana Harbor coke-making facility.
Full-year 2015 estimated coke production is projected to be 4.12 million short t – a decline of approximately 52 000 short t compared with full-year 2014, reflecting the same items discussed above and in line with 2015 production guidance of 4.1 million to 4.2 million short t.
Domestic capacity utilisation for 4Q15 and full-year 2015 is projected to be 96% and 97%, respectively, whereas in the same periods for 2014 it was 101% and 98%.
SunCoke Energy Partners L.P. has also provided preliminary 4Q15 coke production results. It estimated 595 000 short t for the quarter, and this is indicated to be a 100% reflection of the production at its Haverhill, Middletown and Granite City facilities.
It has decreased compared to the same quarter in 2014 and this is reported to also reflect 2015 Granite City volumes at contract maximum levels.
Full-year 2015 estimated coke production from Suncoke Energy Partners is 2.42 million short t – a decrease of approximately 12 000 short t from the full-year 2014, and is attributed to the same item discussed above.
Capacity utilisation collectively was 103% and 105% for 4Q15 and full-year 2015, respectively, and in comparison this was 108% and 106% for the same periods in 2014.
