TerraSource Global, a manufacturer of material processing and handling equipment for the coal industry, among others, has announced that its sister company, Coperion, will begin supporting its customers in India by selling capital equipment, stocking wear parts and providing service for the TerraSource Global brands: Gundlach Crushers, Jeffrey Rader and Pennsylvania Crusher.
Increasing its global footprint
“This move represents a next major step for us in increasing our global footprint, in an effort to provide better service and support to our global customers,” said Doug Sublett, vice president of power and mining for TerraSource Global.
Previously, TerraSource had contracted representation for its products and services in India. However, since the acquisition of Coperion by TerraSource’s parent company, Hillenbrand, the opportunity is now available to take advantage of Coperion’s existing infrastructure in India to expand into that country.
Enhancing the offering to Indian power market
“We have the required infrastructure that TerraSource Global needs to eventually produce machines in India and be more attractive for the local market. It offers a great opportunity to enhance its offerings to Indian customers in the power sector, which is one of the fastest growing sectors in India,” said Umesh Verma, managing director and CEO of Coperion India. India relies on coal to produce much of electricity.
