The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) has welcomed the release of the Queensland Competition Authority’s final decision on Aurizon Network’s revenue and access proposal (UT5) for the Central Queensland Coal Network and will review the decision in the coming days.
QRC Chief Executive Ian Macfarlane stated: “The QRC has always argued to uphold the role of the independent regulator to assess Aurizon Network’s proposed access conditions, revenue and costs.
“It is essential that we maximise the returns to all Queenslanders by making sure our high quality coal gets to market to supply the strong global demand.
“Coal is delivering a multi-billion dollar return to all Queenslanders through close to AUS$4 billion in royalty taxes.”
