American Electric Power seeks coal bids

One of the largest electric utilities in the US is seeking offers for the supply of low-sulfur coal to one or more of its generating stations.

American Electric power is seeking proposals for up to 500,000 t of coal, delivered by barge, to begin in January 2014 and ending in December 2014.

In addition, American Electric Power is seeking proposals for up to one million t of coal, delivered by barge or rail, beginning in January 2015 and ending in December 2015.

American Electric Power is also seeking proposals for up to 180,000 t of coal, delivered by barge, beginning in January 2014 and ending in December 2015.

The company is open to alternative pricing structures or other innovative, value-added concepts. Proposals with alternative terms will be accepted. Accepted bids will be at American Electric Power’s discretion.

Proposal packages must be received by AEP no later than 5pm on October 18, 2013.
