World Coal,
Building on the success of three preceding Semi-Mobiles, the new CR04 station comprises a Primary 1300 Series Sizer fed by a D9 Apron Plate Feeder. A sacrificial conveyor transfers material to a Secondary 625 Series Sizer, which deposits material onto a 1.8 m wide cross-pit conveyor. The station is capable of processing coal at a rate of 3000 tph with peaks of up to 4000 tph achieved.
Construction of CR04 began in March 2016 and by November, the unit was ready to be relocated to its working position. Like the Semi-Mobiles before it, CR04 was relocated in five sections, down into the mine over a distance of six kilometres, using MMD’s Atlas 500T Transporter.
With four Semi-Mobiles delivered over a five-year relationship, the customer was particularly impressed with MMD’s commitment to continually improve and customise the design to suit developing requirements.
“MMD’s fantastic – we’ve really had a good professional relationship over the last few years […] and if you see how we’ve evolved from CR01 to CR04 today, it just shows the dedication and the technical expertise of MMD to improve and evolve the stations to what they are today. So we’re very satisfied with the relationship and what MMD has brought to the table so far.”
