Essar Steel India reports highest quarterly production record

Essar Steel India Ltd (EStIL) has recorded highest ever quarterly production with a 61% quarter-on-quarter growth in the third quarter ended 31 December 2016.
The total flat steel production stood at 1.48 million t, compared to 0.92 million t in the corresponding period last year. Pellet production also grew by 99% to 2.59 million t compared to 1.30 million t in the same quarter last year. Liquid steel grew by 62% from 0.87 million t in Q3 FY16 to 1.41 million t in Q3 FY17.
EStIL is one of India’s leading integrated steel producers with an annual production capacity of 10 million tpy, supported by a 20 million tpy pellet facility. Its facilities comprise iron making, steel making and downstream facilities, including a cold rolling mill, a galvanising and pre-coated facility, a steel-processing facility, an extra-wide plate mill and 3 pipe mills with coating facilities.
It produces over 300 grades of steel conforming to quality standards of international certification agencies, such as API, ABS, NACE, Lloyd’s Register.
