World Coal,
Maptek has appointed Sam Shoemaker as Principal Engineer of its North American office. Shoemaker joins the mining software company with more than 30 years experience in opencast mine planning and design in the iron ore, copper and gold sectors.
“I’m very pleased to join the team at Maptek,” said Shoemaker. “As a long-time Maptek customer, it is a privilege and pleasure to be able to contribute to Maptek’s success after so many years of benefitting from their technology.”
Shoemaker will focus on leading consulting engagements and support Maptek Vulcan and Evolution sales in North America.
“As an engineer, my philosophy is simple - plan the mine, mine the plan - and that’s very much the mindset of the team I’m joining,” concluded Shoemaker. “What I’m looking forward to most at Maptek is working with great products and even better people.”
