Boston Gear has launched a Series 700 worm reducer with a cast iron housing to withstand the frequent impacts from falling stone and material in tough mining conditions.
A speed reducer is positioned between the electric motor and the conveyor drive pulley on a portable mine conveyor, which transfers material from mining machines to haul vehicles in underground mines.
The compact, non-flanged Boston Gear Model 752 unit features a 15:1 ratio, a rated output torque exceeding 649.9997 lb-ft., and a 94% operating efficiency rating.
The modular worm gear construction of Boston Gear 700 Series speed reducers is the standard in the industry. Units feature high-strength bronze worm gears mounted between heavy-duty tapered roller bearings. Large oil reservoirs provide efficient heat dissipation and extended operating life.
