Hazelwood coal plant to begin closure end of March

According to a recent media release from Engie, generating units at Hazelwood coal-fired power plant will begin coming out of service on Monday 27 March.
Three units will be taken out of service on Monday, three on Tuesday and the final two units on Wednesday 29 March.
Hazelwood mine will continue to supply coal required for the final electricity generation from the plant on 29 March.
Once the power station ceases operation, preparation will begin for decommissioning activities in both the mine and power plant.
