World Coal,

The World Coal Association Chief Executive, Michelle Manook, has welcomed the IEA Energy Technology Perspectives: Special Report on Clean Energy Innovation. Whilst the full report is still being reviewed, she issues the following comments:

“The World Coal Association and its members believe in the importance of clean energy innovation.

“Our industry has a demonstrated track record of innovating and responding to economic and environmental challenges. We agree all governments, industries, and investors must work together, and that major efforts are needed in the clean energy transition to reach environmental aspirations through technology and innovation.

“This is not an ‘either/or’ decision; it is critical that government and investment policies are agnostic and inclusive of all fuels and all clean technologies.”
