Curragh mine coal production jumps in 3Q15

Wesfarmers’ Curragh mine recorded a 5.7% rise in coal production in 3Q15 compared to the previous quarter, including a 14.5% rise in thermal coal output.

 

Sandvik operating profit down 7% in 3Q15

Sandvik recorded an operating project of SEK2.33 billion in 3Q15 – 7% down on the same period last year, despite increasing its invoiced sales from its mining business by 7%.

Yancoal coal production drops in 3Q15

Restructuring at the Austar and Abel mines, combined with a scheduled longwall move at the Ashton mine, saw Yancoal’s coal production fall 12% in 3Q15.

 

Caterpillar mining business announces loss

Caterpillar’s Resource Industries business has announced a quarterly loss of US$68 million as sales fell 17% in 3Q15. Overall, the company recorded sales of US$11 billion
