RPM launches haulage simulation software solution

World Coal,

RungePincockMinarco (RPM) has announced the launch of a new software product, HAULSIM, at the Society of Mining Engineers Annual Meeting and Exhibit held in Salt Lake City, US.

The powerful HAULSIM provides the mining sector with an industry specific haulage simulation solution.

HAULSIM gives users the ability to accurately model, visualise and analyse every aspect of their mine haulage system. HAULSIM provides insight into the impact of changes on the mine haulage system, so it can quickly be quantified, giving confidence in planning and design improvement decisions.

Comments

Craig Halliday, RPM’s director of software, commented: “This year’s SME Annual Meeting is the perfect forum to launch HAULSIM to the industry. The audience is very technically-astute, so they will appreciate the impact this product will have on the mining industry.

“Right now across the industry, capital spend is being heavily scrutinised. HAULSIM provides a quick and easy method of modelling the impact of extra equipment. Providing more certainty around the cost benefit of proposed changes can help with the final justification.

“Through the simulation process, HAULSIM can even help miners find efficiencies in their current operational configuration through changes in their haulage plan, without the cost of expanding their fleet and without the need to spend any capital to test assumptions.”

Mining simulation

HAULSIM combines RPM’s experience in mining simulation with the knowledge of haulage systems to produce a powerful simulation engine from FlexSim. HAULSIM not only utilises the industry’s largest independent equipment database, it also delivers real benefits to operations globally.

Commenting on the release of HAULSIM, Bill Nordgren, FlexSim CEO, added: “We are excited to be working with RPM in mining. Our FlexSim product provides real benefits to many customers in many industry verticals were our simulation products are used and respected. Haulage simulation is a natural extension for us and given RPM’s previous history with their TALPAC and HAULNET products it makes perfect sense for us to be working together to help miners reduce their unit costs.”
