The Queensland Resources Council has welcomed the official re-opening of the Isaac Plains coal mine in central Queensland.

The Ktunaxa Nation Council and Teck Resources sign an Impact Management and Benefits agreement, committing to protecting and rehabilitating the environment, providing economic opportunities for Ktunaxa communities.

DMT is to a cooperate with the National Environmental Agency in Georgia, focusing on topics such as sustainable use of mineral resources, geomonitoring and environmental concerns.

The Queensland premier has officially re-opened Stanmore Coal’s Isaac Plains at a ceremony at the mine.

Another case of coal workers' pneumoconiosis has been diagnosed in Queensland, bringing to total to eight, with warnings of more to come.
